Of course, being Miss Bliss the Matchmaker, I must also point out how this month and all it represents relates to gay relationships. Notice above how I said “live their fully authentic lives.” This is what I talk about all the time!
If it weren’t for people who led the way, embracing and embodying who they are [or were], we would have no LGBT history to celebrate. But luckily, they broke away from the pack, and from any constraints they felt, and were able to present themselves to the world wholly. And just look how that has paid off, not only for them, but for later generations.
This is an excellent example of why it’s so important, in building relationships and in building a life, to be honest, to be yourself, to know and respect who you are, and to know and respect your partner. Nothing but good can come from that. And if you don’t believe me, take a look at all the people GLAAD is profiling this month on their special website.
Happy LGBT History Month, everybody!
